Apple Pie Baked Beans

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bacon strips, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cans (28 ounces each) baked beans
  • 1 can (20 ounces) apple pie filling
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, 6-7 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove bacon; drain on paper towel. Add onion; cook until tender, 4-5 minutes. Add garlic and cook another 1 minute.
  2. Stir in baked beans, apple pie filling, cooked bacon, brown sugar, vinegar and salt. Simmer until thickened and flavors have melded, 20-25 minutes.
