Tired of the salsa recipe you always use? Chile de Arbol salsa takes just 25 minutes to make, and everyone loves it.
Ingredients
- 15 dried Arbol chiles
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 whole plum tomatoes, quartered
- 1/2 small onion, quartered
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
- In a small saucepan, cook and stir chilies and garlic over medium-high heat 3-5 minutes or until toasted. Cover with water; bring to a boil. Remove from heat; cover and let sit 15 minutes. Drain the boiling water; discard. Transfer the chiles to a blender or food processor.
- Add tomatoes, onion, cilantro, garlic, lime juice and salt; puree until smooth or desired consistency is achieved.
