Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups old-fashioned oats
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter, cream cheese and sugars until blended. Beat in eggs, bananas, rum and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and baking soda; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and walnuts.
- Shape rounded teaspoons of dough into balls; roll in additional brown sugar. Place 1 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake until edges begin to brown, 10-12 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool. Store in airtight containers.
