Candied Bacon

Once you pull this candied bacon out of the oven, you’ll know you’ve made the perfect elevated snack for your get-together.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon strips
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup, optional
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil; coat with cooking spray. Line bacon strips in a single layer.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together brown sugar, if desired, maple syrup, and black pepper. Spoon brown sugar mixture on each slice of bacon, using the back of the spoon to press mixture evenly onto each slice.
  3. Bake until bacon is golden and crispy, 15-20 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes; remove to a plate in a single layer to cool completely.
