Spicy, curry-scented chicken tikka is an Indian restaurant staple that's easy to replicate at home. For a full meal, serve these oven-baked skewers with rice, naan and your favorite vegetable side dish.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons garam masala
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh gingerroot
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
- Metal or wooden skewers
Directions
- In a large bowl, whisk together first 12 ingredients. Add chicken, tossing to coat. Cover; refrigerate 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°. On metal or soaked wooden skewers, thread chicken. Place on a parchment or foil-lined rimmed baking sheet; bake until chicken is cooked through, 25-30 minutes.
