Grilled Cheese Burger

Cheeseburger, meet grilled cheese. We have a feeling you're going to get along smashingly.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 8 slices white bread
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat large cast-iron or nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder and pepper; form into 4 patties. Place patties in skillet; cook 3-4 minutes per side. Remove patties; set aside.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. In batches, place a slice of bread in the skillet, butter side down. Add a slice of cheese, then burger patty, and top with a second slice of cheese. Top with a remaining slice of bread, butter side up. Cook 2-3 minutes per side or until bread is browned and toasted and cheese is melted. Slice in half; serve.
