Total Time Prep: 10 min. Bake: 25 min.
Yield 1 dozen
Is anything better than bacon? Maybe million-dollar bacon, aka "millionaire's bacon." Spicy, sweet and simple to make, this rich bacon recipe can be part of breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 1 pound thick-sliced bacon strips
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 15x10x1-in. pan with foil. Combine brown sugar, pepper flakes, cayenne and ground pepper. Dip bacon strips in sugar mixture; place in prepared pan.
  2. Bake until browned and crisp, 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven, drizzle with maple syrup. Return pan to oven and bake for 5 minutes longer or until bacon looks glossy but dry. Transfer bacon to a cooling rack (do not use paper towels as they will stick to the bacon). Serve warm.
