Sauteed Apples

Frying up a pan of sweet cinnamon sauteed apples is an easy way to dress up a meal with cozy autumnal flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 5 medium Golden Delicious apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat; saute apples 1 minute. Add water; bring to a boil. Stir in sugar and cinnamon. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, until apples are tender, 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
